Medical Office Online, Inc. is a private company started in 1998 and still based out of St. Louis, MO by John B. Costello, MD. We brought to physicians one of the first secure, paperless, web based, all-in-one practice software. Our system, including patient scheduling, electronic medical record and medical billing has been actively used by providers since 2003.
We have solutions to meet your needs! Whether you are looking to switch to a complete, all-inclusive EHR or just need a billing software for your current EHR.

John B. Costello MD
CEO
Dr. Costello is the founding member of Medical Office Online. He is American Board certified in Internal Medicine (1980) and Rheumatology (1984). He remains independent and actively practices office & hospital medicine. He has also been a part-time weekend Hospitalist for the Barnes Jewish Hospital system in St. Louis.In 2017, Dr. Costello resumed direct involvement in MOO and was re-appointed CEO.
Daniel Reynolds
CFO
Daniel started at Medical Office Online in 2009 as an administraive assistant while studying accounting as a student. After receiving a degree in Healthcare Management at Saint Louis University, he was asked to return to MOO in 2016. He has experience working in finance with software companies, focusing on strict cash flow management.
Bob Kistler
IT Manager
Bob Kistler has been with Medical Office Online since 2005. As the second programmer hired during the initial development of MOO, he has been instrumental in the foundations and functionality of MOO. He has years of experience in developing, installing, and maintaining applications and is knowledgeable in multiple programming languages and standards.
Shawntae Jamison
Senior Operating Manager
Shawntae started at MOO in 2011 with a background in Medical Billing and patient care. She has years of experience in customer service, web development and medical billing. She knows MOO inside and out from her time as customer service representative and is now responsible for implementing and directing the day-to-day operations.
Company History
Dr. Costello began Medical Office Online, Inc. (MOO) in February 1998 with a detailed business plan for an online medial record, scheduler and medical billing system offered over the Internet. For a medical record, he had been using preprinted templates from his junior year in medical school until the initiation of the MOO's online medical record in January 2000. After a MOO funding round in the mid 2000’s, outside management took the reins of MOO. Turbulent times and stalled growth were the result. After that, two successive outside CEO’s failed to grow the company to its potential. With internal management re-instated by the Board of Directors, MOO has now received ONC Certification and is on track to grow with Independent Practices & Billing companies alike.
Medical Office Online, Inc. is now well provisioned and heading in the right direction to return to marketing this innovative service.
